ABSTRACT

A bootstrap test procedure, as discussed by Garren et al. (2001), is based on bootstrapping Pearson chi-squared statistics. The data sets and results published in this section as Tables 1 through 9 are also available in Garren et al. (2001), and these tables are reproduced with permission from the publisher (https://www.tandf.co.uk). Our statistic, r , for testing goodness-of-fit to the beta-binomial model is a P-value, and will be constructed below. Thus, small values of r will be strong evidence that the data are from a distribution which is not beta-binomial.
