ABSTRACT
The aim of this section is to collect the concepts of probability theory and to introduce the notation used throughout the book. Since it is assumed that the reader is familiar with the foundations of prob ability theory, the theory itself is not developed in this book. The reader may find details in Chapters 1-4 of our basic reference [58].
