ABSTRACT
Waterborne emulsion paints (household use) foam because of the surface-active agents and polymeric stabilizers used in the manufacture of emulsion paint, whereas mixed water/solvent-based paints (industrial use) foam because of the dissolved polymeric binder. In addition, incorporated surfactants for substrate and pigment wetting and thickeners magnify foam problems.
