ABSTRACT

In general different classes of thread fit may have different effects on the performance of a threaded fastener in a given mechanical joint. As mentioned previously, for instance, class 5 is a special thread indicating an overlap of material which must cause a finite amount of thread deformation before assembly can be accomplished.
