cost associated with designing, manufacturing, selling, supporting, and recycling them (Fig. 3.1). Increased demand means increased sales revenue because more units can be sold for a higher selling price. Reduced total cost means more sales revenue, including that generated from increased demand, can be converted into profits. A major focus of this book is to explore bow profitability can be influenced and improved by making well-informed early product design decisions.
