ABSTRACT
Magnets have long been used for retaining and stabilizing various dental prostheses, such as dentures, l maxillary prostheses,2 and inplant dentures.3 Alnico, ferrite, and platinumcobalt magnets were used, hence their size had to be in the range of centimeters to obtain the magnetic forces required. Therefore, their applications were limited to special cases. Clinical cases using these magnets were reported until the mid-1970s.
