ABSTRACT

D-Glucose has been the most extensively studied carbohydrate because of its interesting molecular structure, its chemical and physical properties, its cardinal importance as the major source of energy for the human body, its central role in diabetes mellitus,l and possibly, its role in the aging process. 2 Since it is one of the first substances determined in blood, many methods have been devised for its measurement. Except for the determination of pH, there are probably more methods for glucose measurement than for the determination of the levels of any other blood constituents.
