ABSTRACT
Total Quality Management (TQM) comes in a variety of "flavors." This chapter describes the version of TQM proposed by the Department of Defense (DoD) for their internal operations and suppliers, and is described in the publication DoD 5000.51-G, "Total Quality Management Guide." Table 11.1 presents a draft of the DoD's TQM directive (received by the author from the DoD on April 4, 1990).
