ABSTRACT

Dr. C. Ronald Simpkins retired in 1996 after 32 years service with DuPont. During his career he served in technical and management roles in engineering, research, plant technical, manufacturing, computer systems, marketing, and business management. In his last assignment, in DuPont Engineering, he was responsible for the administration of the DuPont Corporate Engineering Standards, and defined and led the effort to convert the DuPont Corporate Engineering Standards to full electronic publishing and global server-based distribution. Ron Simpkins conceived, organized, and served as the first chairman of the Process Industry Practices (PIP) Initiative. He served as DuPont's representative on the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Member Company Council Executive Committee and as a member of the ANSI Board of Directors.
