Figure 6.2. Since the peak values Tmi for this model as well as the first onset temperature Ta1 are clear from the data, they were pinned at their correct values. Estimates of C 1 = 2 W / K, D1 = 1 oc-1, Ta2 = 225°C, C2 = 8 W /K, and D2 = 1 oc-1 were used as seed values for the program. Within about 10 minutes, the program settled on values for the coefficients which matched the coefficients used to create the simulated data, within single precision roundoff error. Each term in the sum, representing the deconvoluted endotherms, is plotted in the figure as dotted lines.
