ABSTRACT
This chapter was written to provide insight into the background and tactics surrounding the neutralization of acidic industrial wastewater. Several major topics are covered, including pH measurement, lime and caustic use, and design considerations when using either of these two chemicals alone or in a two-stage neutralization technique. This chapter is meant only as a guide to neutralization tactics; more detailed technical information can be obtained in the ref erences listed at the end of the chapter.
