ABSTRACT
In randomized complete block design, the blocks (replications) are formed across a fertility gradient to minimize the experimental error in one direction and to compare the treatments with increased precision. Some times the soil fertility and other variations occur in both directions. In such situations, the blocks (replications) may be formed in both directions. Such a design is called Latin square (LS) design. This design is expected to fur ther reduce the experimental error.
