ABSTRACT
Before ordering Ribes, U.S. growers should ensure their states allow the plants to be imported and grown. State departments of agriculture can provide information regarding quarantines. Plants from foreign sources must go through testing in national quarantine. Canada has no national or provincial restrictions on growing currants and gooseberries, although import certification and phytosanitary certificates are required as with any other nursery stock (Dale, 1992).
