ABSTRACT
Agriculture is the science and art of farming, which includes the work of cultivating the soil, producing crops, and raising livestock. This definition covers many of the items discussed in this book. Additional comments on conservation, dryland, irrigated, precision, and rainfed agriculture are appropriate here because these types of agriculture strongly influence soil and water conservation.
