ABSTRACT

Kaizen derives from “kai,” meaning to take apart, and “zen,” meaning to make good. Thus, by using kaizen, you take apart your processes in order to make them better. Kaizen plans can be related to an entire project, or to something as simple as the first phase of 5S. It is the process that needs to be in place to ensure that the improvements are sustained and the office worker’s efforts acknowledged. In Step 6 you designed your new state. Step 7 is a call to action.
