That’s what executives say at Xerox, which in 2003 made help with lean and six sigma part of the services it offers to customers.

“We’ve really become strategic partners (with customers),” says Rajiv Agarwala, vice president, lean six sigma deployment, for Xerox Global Services. “Whenever you go in and do an approach like this, at the end of the approach, you just have a completely different relationship with that customer. They truly consider you their partner. It’s never about price anymore. It’s about price and value, and that’s a really good way to do business. We always like to be in that position.”
