ABSTRACT

However, that natural world is fundamentally different from the built or constructed world. The structure we observe in the natural world is the consequence of the interaction between the genetic process in the organism and the selective forces in the environment. Because the organism is continually maintaining itself in the dynamic environment, its composition is responsive and dynamic, although often there is a degree o f fixicity which is what makes structure what it is. Adaptation may not be obtained through change in structure; therefore the flexibility of structure is essential for survival.
