ABSTRACT

THE LAST STEP in the planning phase is to use all available data to evaluate the chosen package concept and, as a team, to recommend to proceed or not. Many of the original packaging ideas will have been eliminated through feasibility and consumer testing, so that now there are only a few that could satisfy the project goal. The decision drivers for selecting a package are technical feasibility, consumer preference, time requirement, and financial commitment. If the risk associated with the packaging change is low, and finances and time are not a concern, two or three packages may be selected for further evaluation.
