ABSTRACT
The performance of MCASP plants in municipal wastewater treat ment can be defined as secure and reliable. The examined plate and hollow fiber modules are indifferent to the loads in municipal waste water treatment. By sufficiently calculating the membrane filtration, it can be assumed that a stable hydraulic performance of the membranes can be guaranteed. A chemical cleaning of the membranes is to be car ried out at intervals of 6 months for the hollow fiber membranes and 12 months for the plate membranes. Adaptation of the membranes to variable influent volume flows as these occur, while processing mu nicipal wastewater of combined sewer systems, is possible without problems.
