ABSTRACT
As noted in Chapter 1, this Chapter mainly concerns the macroevolution of the complex catfish systems examined in this study, based on the phylogenetic results obtained in the preceding Chapter. This theme is related to a some what controversial old question, namely the 'evolutionary functional school' versus the 'cladistic systematic school'.
