ABSTRACT
The population ecology of multi-genomic organism such as AM fungus-that exists in symbiotic association simultaneously in connection with multiple hosts-needs to be understood in greater detail. A clearer perspective may be possible with the application of molecular techniques (Sanders, 2002). A number of key features of AM fungal population biology have been deciphered recently, and we need to keep in mind certain phenomena such as genetic exchange and drift while assessing AM fungi.
