ABSTRACT
At the outset, we should note that anastomoses as a physiological manifestation is well known and reported for many fungi, including most ECM species. Certain ECM fungi such as Hebeloma crustuliniforme exhibit anastomoses frequently, whereas, Lactarius rubrilacteus or Tuber species and a few others rarely show up anastomoses (Agerer, 1991; BCERN, 2003).
