ABSTRACT
Numerous anticancer agents have been isolated from natural sources, especially from microorganisms and plants. No single compound type is useful for all cancer therapy. However, various types of substances, e.g., alkaloids, lignans, terpenes, and steroids (Itokawa 1988), are effective against different cancers and tumors.
