ABSTRACT
Elucidation of the mode of allelochemicals on algae membrane is an important but challenging task, in allelopathic research for algae control, because of the multiple potential molecular targets. Different kinds of allelochemicals may act on different target sites of algae membrane. Some allelochemicals may cause rapid plasma membrane leakage in acceptors i.e. changes in the cell membrane may occur. The composition of cell membrane lipid fatty acids is determined to study the allelochemicals mode of action mode. The allelochemicals may cause oxidation of cell membrane lipid fatty acids.
