ABSTRACT
The Neoteleostei, not formally recognized by Nelson (2006) contains eight superorders: Stenopterygii, Ateleopodomorpha, Cyclosquamata, Sco pelomorpha, Lampriomorpha, Polymixiomorpha, Paracanthopterygii and Acanthopterygii. This chapter deals with the Stenopterygii, Cyclosquamata, Scopelomorpha and Paracanthopterygii.
