ABSTRACT

The efferent duct system of the male gonad is defined as the duct system transporting the spermatozoa from the testis to the external environment. It consists of the efferent ducts and of accessory glands which have specific functions in the formation of the seminal fluid and in maintaining the viability of spermatozoa. In fishes (Pisces) the efferent duct system of the male gonads is not homogenous but differs in relation to the systematic position and to the mode of reproduction.
