Like many early trends, its importance is not measured in market share, but in mind share. The fact of its existence was far more significant than the rev enues it impacted. In fact, a very good argument arose out of the Argentine callback wars, where the existence of callback actually increased PTT revenues and stimulated demand for long distance services.
