ABSTRACT

Control Bars In Chapter 1, we saw that common control windows were special child win dows provided by the Windows API to create buttons, list boxes, edit boxes, etc. Although a toolbar may look like a collection of these control windows, it is, in fact, just one long control window that paints buttons on itself. A status bar is also just a long, skinny control window painting panes within its border. Both toolbars and status bars represent a special category of com mon control window called a common control bar.
