ABSTRACT

Owners are not willing to invest in a cool storage system without first being convinced that its added cost could be recovered through electric demand and energy cost savings within an acceptable period of time. It is therefore imperative to perform an accurate economic evaluation of each cooling option. This section demonstrates through example the manner in which key factors are analyzed. The example selected is a large office building for which three different cool storage operating modes and three representative commercial-class rate schedules are consi dered.
