ABSTRACT
WT are localized in spaces. Thus, the wavelet transform can decompose a signal into two sub-signals: approximations and details. The approximations represent the high-scale,
low-frequency components of the signal, while the details represent the low-scale, highfrequency components. Therefore, compared with the Fourier transform, the wavelet
transform provides a more effective representation of discontinuities in signals and
transient functions.
