ABSTRACT
The retro-orbital injection technique using anesthesia can be an alternative to tail vein injections. (Not all types of solutions may be injected.) Contact your lab animal veterinarian for guidelines in regard to the type of solutions you can inject. Proficiency in one-handed injections is necessary, and generally small amounts of solution are injected using this method (up to 200 µl, based on an adult mouse).
