ABSTRACT
M 3(C O )i2 (M = Fe, Ru and Os) and the mixed-metal species M 2M ’(C O )i2 for which all possible combinations have been prepared and characterised. The species con taining all three Group 8 metals, i.e. FeRuO s(CO )i2, has yet to be isolated. The trimetal cores o f all these clusters are triangular, the arrangement o f carbonyl ligands differs from cluster to cluster.
