ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a synthesis of the examples presented in the chapters of the book. The aim is to present a framework for developing and applying data, analyses and modelling in order to be inclusive of the multiple perspectives and knowledge needed for integrated land use management and planning. The integration of these scientific tools with decision-making processes are also discussed. The issues identified in the introductory chapter are revisited as part of this synthesis.
