ABSTRACT
Comparative Embryology Earlier in this text, it was pointed out that comparative embryology is a powerful approach to the analysis of development. In this approach, rather than just observation of development in a single species, development is compared in several species. This provides greater insight into developmental processes. We will adopt this approach for the first time in considering cleavage (Table 8-1).
