ABSTRACT

R eproduction is the process by which organisms produce offspring to con-tinue the species. In both sexes, the reproductive system consists of gonads, reproductive

ducts, glands, and external genitalia. These structures are designed by natural selection to produce gametes (sex cells), deliver them to the site of fertilization in a viable and functional condition, and, in the case of females, provide a site and support system for development of offspring.
