ABSTRACT

VAS DEFERENS AND URETHRA The sperm then enter the vas deferens, which arises at the end of the epididymis. The vas deferens is the sperm duct proper that will pump the sperm out of the epididymal "well" at the time of ejaculation. Note that the vasa deferentia are the ducts cut during the contraceptive vasectomy procedure (Fig. 5-5). The vasa deferentia, together with other structures (blood vessels, lymphatic vessels, and so on), make up the spermatic cords, which pass out of the scrotum, through the inguinal canal, and into the abdominal cavity.
