ABSTRACT

A term “Cytokines” originally means “factors produced by cells” and now holds a wide range of molecules including interleukins (IL), colony stimulating factors (CSF), interferons (IFN), tumor necrosis factors (TNF), and classical hormones. Therefore, “cytokine receptors” became a large group of molecules and can be divided into several subgroups according to their molecular structures and common molecules shared by them (Table 1). Assessing from structural similarities, only the hemopoietin receptor family (type I cytokine receptor) and the interferon receptor family (type II cytokine receptor) are classified into cytokine receptor family [1].
