ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: System of models for evaluation of triple hybrid (RO-MSF-power generation) has been developed. It includes models for: (A) power-generating; (B) reverse osmosis desalination and (C) multistage flush desalination. Any group of individual models, in turn, comprises set of submodels of different hierarchy level, namely: (1) technological, (2) energy, (3) ecological and (4) economic submodels. (1) Technological submodel gives technological characteristics vs. operating load. (2) Energy submodel calculates fuel influx vs. load; (3) Task of ecological submodel is quantification of CO2emissions; (4) Economic submodel gives the following economic indicators: (a) water cost, (b) energy cost and (c) cost of CO2 emissions through imposed carbon tax. The manuscript contains analysis of indicators at various parameters such as: (1) Load and efficiency of power generating system, (2) Specific energy consumption for desalination, (3) Specific CO2 emissions and (4) Carbon taxes. Submitted model can be applied for analysis of various schemes including RO.
