ABSTRACT

Liposomes of various compositions have been developed to expedite targeting of pharmaceutical materials to tissues. In diagnostic imaging, liposomes were used to carry radiotracers, radiopaque agents, paramagnetic compounds or as sonoreflective agents (Caride, 1990). There are quite a number of diagnostic imaging studies with liposomes (Krause et al., 1994). Niosomes can also be used for diagnostic imaging purposes. Until now some in vivo studies with niosomes that carrying biologic agents have been carried out successfully (Özer et al., 1991). In vivo studies including imaging on iopromide radiopaque niosomes were also reported (Erdogan et al., 1996).
