ABSTRACT

In recent years there has been a growing interest in combining affinity methods with mass spectrometry. This is shown by Figure 27.1, where an almost-exponential increase in such methods has been reported over the last decade. Part of the reason for this growth has been the need for more-sophisticated methods for the analysis of complex systems like combinatorial and proteomic libraries. Another factor is the advances that have recently been made in mass spectrometric methods for proteins and other biological agents.
