ABSTRACT
All water power is derived from the pressure or force exerted by falling through a given distance (height) or “head.” While water wheels turn the generators to produce electricity, the whole hydro system must be considered as the prime mover. The elements of a hydro electric plant include:
1. Dams which impound and store the water and may be of earth, rock, concrete, or a combination of any or all of these.
