Normed Vector Spaces

In previous chapters we used the standard definition of distance, d_E , on Euclidean n-space. In this chapter, we extend this work by defining various distances on Euclidean n-space and by defining distance on more general vector spaces, as well. Why we use various different ways to measure distance in a vector space will also be explained and shown in various examples.
