ABSTRACT
We give an analysis of the various types of limagons and their properties; in particular we find their non-regular points, inflexions, vertices, and un dulations. As an application of curvature, we use these results to classify limagbns into five classes. Limagons are algebraic curves of degree four. They are intimately connected with the orthotomics and reflection caustics of a circle which we study in §14.8. History and applications of limagons are given in Chapter 13.
