ABSTRACT

In this chapter we determine the subset of functions :F2 in :F1 for which the secondary sequences {Gm(JI)}~=O and {Hm(JI)}~=O are both orthogonal. Also, we show that :F2 n:F21 = 0. Formulas are given for the inner product of two polynomials in these sequences and for the nth moments, particularly in Theorem 7.7, which expresses these moments as values of the Pn(x, y) and Q(:z:, y) polynomials. Theorem 7.8 gives formulas for the Maclaurin expansions of 1-1 and (/-1 ) 2 , where the coefficients are, respectively, G and H moments of the secondary sequences.
