ABSTRACT
In this chapter we investigate the time-asymptotic behavior of solutions to the linearized equations (1.12), (1.13) in one space dimension. In Section 3.1 we study the decay of solutions using energy methods and the Fourier transform. Section 3.2 describes the propagation of singularities as an in herent hyperbolic phenomenon.
