ABSTRACT
In this final chapter we report on related results for evolution equations of thermoelastic type. We start in Section 9.1 by discussing the situation where additional damping mechanisms are present, in detail for the case of damping through external forces which is reflected in an additional damping term of the type Ut in the differential equations; boundary damping is mentioned briefly. Then the asymptotic behavior of solutions as \x\ —)• oo is described, followed by a discussion of numerical aspects.
