ABSTRACT

In many instances, a pump may be capable of providing excellent service for an extended period with little or no attention. However, if there is no planned maintenance (i.e., the periodi(~ scheduled removal of equipment from service for the disassembly and inspection of the internal working parts) or routine maintenance (i.e., daily general inspection and testing, including regular lubrication, performed as a part of the regular operation of the plant), the end result will be a shortened service life and eventual decay of the equipment.
