ABSTRACT
Complete computer systems for finite element analysis have come to be constructed as a number of phases, executed in a manner that progresses from pre-processor phases, through the processor or solution phases and on to the final post-processor phases. A flow diagram of such a finite element scheme is shown in Fig. 2.1. The scheme shown does not represent a particular working system but it is sufficiently general to be used in the analysis of the various phases to be found in many of the commercially available systems for finite element analysis.
