ABSTRACT
A B S T R A C T The paper overviews the application of expert systems prototypes in system control. Some results obtained for off-line control are illustrated. The basic problem , for bo th on-line and off-line control is identified in the diagnosis of the s ta te of the system . A probabilistic network scheme for a coherent development of this diagnosis is presented.
