ABSTRACT

A general multi-objective optimal model OSF for multi-reservoir, multi-period schedule of flood control system is formulated. OSF includes various kinds of constraints and multiple objectives. The solution of OSF is performed in two steps. First, by the weighted method for multi-objective solution, a variety of OSF is developed with a synthetical objective function. Next, a LP method is also achieved to gain approximately the global optimum solution of OSF. The above approach could be used to deal with flood control system not only for a short-term but also for a mid-term schedule. A computer software with graphshowing is completed for the above model and methods. The OSF and its corresponding software have been applied to the flood control problem of the Yellow River, and the preliminary results illustrate they are feasible and efficient.
